A 37 year old Woman, Tokwase Queen Ayakpa from Benue State, has been arrested for faking her kidnap in a desperate bid to extort N20,000 from her sister.

Ayakpa was arrested  by the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) Police Command, Abuja, Nigeria.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Bala Ciroma in charge of the Command told Newsmen while parading Ayakpa and 24 others for armed robbery, cultism, car theft and fraud that Ayakpa was arrested after police tracked the calls they were making for the N20,000 ransom payment to one Ikule’s house at Mashafa Village, Mpape, Abuja where they were hiding.

In her confession, Ayakpa stated: “I conspired with one Fidelis Ikuye, 36, to fake my kidnap to extort money from my sister and that I  also did it because my hairstylist business was no longer doing well due to corona virus crisis and that she also wanted to test if her sister actually love her.

She said she left home on July 20, 2020 and called her sister to inform her that she had been kidnapped and that her abductors demanded for N20,000  before she could regain her freedom, adding that she  was still expecting her sister to pay the money when the police suddenly arrested them.
