The Police at the Marko Division, Lekki,of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested and arraigned a Security Man, Ben Udo, 40, who claimed to be a Pastor with a new generation church wth Headquarters along the Oshodi- Mile 2 expressway,Lagos for allegedly stealing the sum of Zar 3800 South African Currency equivalent to N120,000 and $595 dollars equivalent to N214,000 all valued at N335,800 belonging to his employer, Miss Ugochukwu Ngozi.

The Police also accused the suspect of unlawful possession of Criminal charms and concoctions in his employer’s home without authority.

The accused was charged before an Igbosere Magistrate Court on a three count charge of felony y to wit:stealing and unlawful possession of Charms.

Police Counsel, Francisca Job informed the Court in charge No P/34/2018 that the accused committed the crime between March and May, 2018 at 23 Babatunde Anjous Street Lekki phase I, Lagos where he resides with the complainant.

Job told the Court that the complainant reported to the Police that She left the sum of Zar 3800 South African Currency equivalent to N120,.000 and $595 dollars eaujvslent to N214,000 at home and went to work but that before She returned, the Security Man allegedly stole the Currency, changed it to Naira and lodged the money in his account.

She said that during Investigation, the accused told the Police that his friend in Abroad sent $300 to him which he changed to Naira and deposited it in his account, but that when the Police told the accused to provide his friend’s contacts to confirm his claims he could not provide it.

Job also told the Court that the accused also recovered Charms, concoctions from the accused room and when asked what he was doing with the charms and concoctions in his employer’s home since he claimed he was a Pastor,he could not give satisfactory answer.

She said the offences,the accused committed were punishable under sections 287(7), 410 and 133(a)(b) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The accused however pleaded not guilty to the alleged crime and magistrate, B.I Blare granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two dirties in like sum.

Bakare adjourned the case till 11 June, 2018 for mention and ordered that the defendant be kept at the Ikoyi, Prison, Lagos till he fulfil the bail conditions.
