A 26 year old Man,  Emeka Ozili  who allegedly  confessed to raping an 80-year-old grandmother in Delta State, South-South Nigeria has been granted conditional release by the Delta State Chief Judge, Justice Mashall Umukoro.

Justice Umukoro said the suspect was released due to the victim’s lack of interest in prosecuting the case.

The Judge, in a statement released freed Ozili and 38 other awaiting trial inmates at the Agbor, Delta State correctional facility as part of discongesting the Prison.

A Police source said that Ozili pounced on the grandma where she was sleeping and forcefully had sex with her even when the grandma  was struggling with him and telling him what he was doing was an abomination.

It was gathered that the screaming by the victim attracted neighbors who rushed to the scene to rescue the old woman and  they held the suspect and handed him over to the Police who charged him to Court and remanded in Prison before the Chief Judge came to his rescue.
